《chín muồi》sonic narrative of pieces, spoken word, sound objects, and space 

2021/10/16 Premiere:Soundctuary (Treasure Hill) , Taipei, Taiwan.
A phenomenon has reached its most entire development and has taken on a new form of status. A story told through a sonic narrative, spoken word, and sound experiment on space. Yun Chih invites you to listen to the soundscape of her mind. This performance is dedicated to those who have left home for good.

I wanted to share this excerpt from a forty-minute work with you because this is the time text became almost inaudible and sunk in the resonance.

在這一分五十秒的作品,我想要用GIF製作一個常在媒體素養中出現的「斷章取義」的劇情。作品中的聲音都來自於一個1.5秒的鐵盤敲打聲的重新取樣。

In this 1m50s miniature, I want to echo the famous image in media, depicting the idea of contextomy. Sounds brought musical layers to meaning, which are all transformed from a single metal plate. Video is made from Instagram GIF. I want to make this work accessible and funny.

《Love and Duty》/電子音樂

開頭以明朗節奏為動機,象徵著情慾的跳動,沉悶音色,為接下來的故事結局做了暗示。 在男主角在眾人面前為女主角包裹傷口時,音樂中的留白,是眾人的默許,沒有批評,只有關心。 在影片中段,在此聲音展示的線條明顯加長,說明男女主角兩人的情愫已展開,然而背景中的底噪再次了暗示結局,可以聽到非調性單音旋律,說明兩人的情愫儘管不符合當時時代的調性,美感卻是飽滿的。後段,以女主角為客人量身時,儘管音樂節奏跳動,以音域帶出了與開頭不同的淒涼空間感,底噪愈發明顯,說明當時社會的價值觀最終再次吞蝕了女主角。

《Love and Duty》/electronic

The beginning has a precise rhythm, symbolizing lust’s beating and the dull tone. When the man wraps the wound for the woman in front of everyone, the silence is the concession of everyone; there is no criticism, however, concerns. In the middle of the video, the notes are lengthened, indicating that the love between them has unfolded. However, the background noise once again reminds us of the end of the story, and an atonal monophonic melody revealing the love between them does not fit the tonality of society at that time; the aesthetics are still there. In the last part, although the bouncing beats are still there, the sound range brings out a sense of space different from the beginning. The background noise becomes more prominent, indicating that society’s values at that time still swallowed the woman in the end.
