Review:
老師 Yun is a marvelous educator. She will go above and beyond to guide you in your Mandarin Chinese journey. Her breadth and depth of Mandarin Chinese will leave you wanting for more. She will make you feel at ease during the lesson with a dash of humor. 謝謝老師 Yun. -Hector, Iowa, USA, 36 y.o.
I look forward very much to each lesson. They are always very interesting – each lesson is varied (some conversation practice, some grammar points from the textbook, some real life learning etc) and comes with custom materials which are helpfully annotated during the lesson with new words and then sent to me afterwards. Even the homework is fun and varied each time! -John, London, UK, 53 y.o.
I like how the lessons are focused on real-life Taiwanese Mandarin (instead of textbook language), and how each lesson consists of a review session and homework analysis. Also, the lessons are well paced and the usage of written language is appropriate for the student to understand the message. A minimal usage of English is also appreciated. -Benjamin, Seoul, South Korea, 44 y.o.
Yun is one of the best teachers I’ve had in decades of Chinese language study. She prepares excellent materials for each lesson, is very knowledgable, super fun to talk with, and has a wonderful personality. Highly recommend her as a tutor! -Maria, Berlin, Germany, 46 y.o.
I took individual Mandarin lessons with Yun twice a week for two months in 2024, and it was the best private tutoring experience I’ve had in many years of studying Chinese language. I had recently arrived in Taiwan and wanted to understand more about the local context since my previous language training had all taken place in mainland China. Yun was able to accommodate my interests so that we could work with literary and journalistic materials simultaneously. Her classes were extremely well-prepared, and she always recommended interesting extra materials to practice with outside of class. In our classes, she seemed to allocate the perfect balance of time to free conversations, which felt fun and natural, and more formally-structured learning. She is a hard-working, humorous, and sincere professional. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a private tutor in Taiwanese Mandarin! -Cheryl, Taipei, Taiwan.
